Teaching & Assessment
A range of blended teaching and learning methods will be employed to support your learning of fundamental concepts, knowledge, and skills. Your participation in scheduled online teaching and learning sessions is expected. At this level, a significant degree of independence in study is anticipated, and extensive reading and research are encouraged. Tutorials will be conducted at strategic points throughout the module to offer guidance and feedback on your progress. The University's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) will grant access to weekly learning materials and additional resources, including academic journals and relevant websites, to support your learning journey. Furthermore, the University's Library offers a plethora of resources such as journals and books for your benefit.
Formative assessment will support your learning, allowing you to reflect on feedback from your tutors. It takes a variety of forms, including the submission of samples of work, and does not contribute to the final module mark. Summative assessment is designed to test your achievement of the intended learning outcomes of the course and includes a reflective presentation and professional discussion.
The university will use all reasonable endeavours to deliver your course as described in its published material and the programme specification for the academic year in which you begin your course. The university considers changes to courses very carefully and the university will minimise any changes. Please be aware that our courses are subject to review on an ongoing basis and changes may be necessary due to legitimate staffing, financial, regulatory and academic reasons. The published course material and the programme specification contain indicative ‘optional modules’ that may be subject to change due to circumstances outside of our control. For this reason, we cannot guarantee to run any specific optional module.
